CAP Congress

CAP'07 registration

Registering for CAP’07 is a straightforward process that should take no more than a few minutes.  Please note that, at the suggestion of many delegates over the past couple of years, Council has decided that, starting this year (the 2007 Congress) the CAP will not be providing bags as part of the registration.  A generic Congress bag will be available for purchase for $10 (tax included), if needed, at the CAP desk in the registration area.

"Before you begin you may want to review the Accomodation link (in the panel on the left). Note that accommodations at the University of Saskatchewan include a private room with a semi-private bathroom, a buffet-style breakfast the next morning, and overnight parking."

Credit-card information may be required in the final step, as full payment is due with the registration. VISA or MasterCard are accepted, as well as commercial or certified cheques, payable to University of Saskatchewan.

Book early!

If you register no later than April 30, 2007, you will receive a reduction in the registration fee (see the schedule of fees, below). In addition, if you are planning to stay at one of the three conference hotels, ensure that you book early to avoid disappointment.  The special CAP07 room rate will only be available until May 13th.

Also note that the banquet space is limited.  Its setting is the Western Development Museum, which contains the longest indoor museum street in North America.  Cocktails will be served on this street before the dinner.  Register and reserve your banquet tickets early, they are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration categories and fees

This year, the registration fee includes complimentary coffee breaks and lunches for the duration of the conference (the Sunday lunch will be served with the Exhibitors in the Geology Building; all other meals will be offered in the Marquis Hall Dining Rooms).  Breakfasts are included only for those delegates registered to stay in the residences on the University campus. There are several for-fee food establishments on campus and a wide-range of restaurants in the Saskatoon area that you may want to explore on your own in the evenings (see the links to Saskatoon on the left for some dining suggestions).

Registration fees are listed in Canadian Funds, mandatory 6% GST extra. The presenter of any accepted abstract is expected to register.

Delegates paying regular fees and attending both the full CAP and CLS meetings will receive a discount on registration fees.

Cancellations refunds

Since the conference incurs certain expenses prior to its first day, it is necessary for the organizing committee to impose the following cancellation policy:

There are no refunds possible after May 31; however a substitute attendee from the same organization is possible at any time prior to the conference at no charge. All cancellations must be received in writing – by e-mail, fax, or hardcopy mail; refunds will be provided by cheque. There will be no refunds granted for registrants who do not meet the conditions outlined above. Delegates who do not attend meals, receptions, or coffee breaks included in the registration fee are not entitled to refunds for these events. There will be no refunds on the banquet tickets, although the Secretariat might be able to assist you in selling your banquet ticket by maintaining a waiting list should the event sell out.

Privacy policy

All information collected is held strictly private and will not be revealed to a third party. The credit-card information is used for the purposes of a single transaction on a secure site, and is not recorded.

If you choose an appropriate box during the on-line registration process, your name, affiliation, and email address will be added to the List of Participants that will be made available during the conference.

Security statement

All appropriate measures have been taken by the organizers of the Canadian Association of Physicists Annual Congress and by the computer system administrators to ensure the security and integrity of the information provided by conference attendees. Access to the computing equipment is restricted to authorized personnel and the systems are regularly monitored by computing staff. All communications with the computing equipment involved in conference registration occurs over encrypted connections using industry standard encryption technology.
